Ariel, The Tempest

I return again to call for nerds!

Character: Ariel, an elemental spirit of air that's been pressed into servitude by human masters a couple of times and has weird, complicated feelings about it. Also, technically kind of a shapeshifter.

Seeking: Borrowing from last time I did this! Other Shakespeare characters (especially other Tempest characters), magical types, urban fantasy types!

Verse Ideas: I'm currently back on my iambic pentameter bullshit and longing for chances to explore Ariel's relationship to things like power, love, service, captivity, freedom, and physicality.

• My kingdom for a Prospero or Miranda who'd want to play out any of the time on the island, or after it! (Though I do tend to go for the interpretation "Prospero is a bastard who only knows how to show love through manipulation and Ariel's feelings on him vacillate between fear and love.")
• Something in an urban fantasy vein -- I often play Ariel in a modern setting as a vaguely-Supernatural-inspired elemental/fey creature that's wandering around the world embodied and trying to stay out of mystical politics. But what if they DID get involved oh no now what
• Master/servant explorations! Ariel can be summoned and bound, and being immortal, this could happen in pretty much any time period and location, and then you've got a pretty powerful magical spirit with a chip on their shoulder at your beck and call. Could be gen, could be shippy? somebody praise them, they just want to be told they did a good job
• Shakespeare crossovers! Ariel in Elsinore. Viola washing up on the island instead of Illyria. idk let's get nerdy with it!
