Um, yes, excellent, I would very much be up for this. How did you want to do this? Does he seek her out because he notices that she seems to get mixed up in a lot of heroic nonsense, do they meet by happenstance, or something else? I'm about to head out for the rest of the night, but I can brainstorm some more things and am generally pretty flexible!

I was thinking maybe he kept an eye on her through college because he noticed her being semi-involved in some superhero stuff and approached her after? Or maybe he approached her early on in college about joining once she graduated and kind of guided her school/training during that time?

I like both options! I'd say the deciding factors would be whether you prefer to play out their initial meeting or start after they've established the situation somewhat, and whether you'd prefer to play with a college-aged MJ or a post-graduate one in her 20s.

What kind of relationship did you have in mind between them (mentor/mentee, genuinely liking one another as peers, cautiously trusting, manipulative, etc.)? I'm just trying to get a better feel of the vibe you want to go for so I can better offer suggestions!

I think it would be fun to play out that initial contact between them. Also, I was imaging that Helmut would want her as someone to keep things in check morally? Like he recognizes that all he really has left is vengeance so he needs someone like her to help balance that. Maybe do a time skip and eventually it’s less mentor/mentee.

Also (so many alsos) I was randomly thinking it might be fun to have Yelena train MJ some? She’s one of my favorite characters and I don’t have a journal for her yet but I’d love to give her a try.

That sounds great! She can be cynical enough for them to have some common ground, but pragmatic enough to remind him that you can't just blow up all your problems. We can definitely play out their initial meeting and then skip around as we see fit!

Also, I absolutely adore Yelena and have never had the chance to really play with one, so yes, MJ would definitely need to learn how to fight and I think the pair of them would get along great beyond that. Let me know if there are any other details you'd like to hash out, or else I can put something together for MJ to come across Helmut, maybe around the summer after her first year at college? (Unless, of course, you'd like to start something somewhere!)

If you want to set up a starter I’ll figure out how to have Helmut respond to her. I’m good with anything for a starter!

Sorry for the delay, but I put something together for them here. Let me know if you need anything more to work with or want a different scenario to start!

Also, I forgot to ask whether you'd prefer sticking to MJ's canon point and having her missing memories as per the end of No Way Home, or if you'd rather she'd remember all of her previous experiences with superheroes. I'm down for either, it would just be a different dynamic depending on which route we go!

Maybe having her memories of heroes would make more sense for her to be on his radar so let’s go with that!

Sounds good! Also I'm not sure what the chances are of her knowing exactly who he is so if you have a preference on that, just let me know! I imagine his name would have eventually gotten back to Peter as the instigator of the events in Civil War, and he might have mentioned it to her once in passing, but nothing more in-depth than that. I'm flexible, though!
